Tours Sitio-Guazapa

We are located on the Guazapa mountain in the city of Suchitoto( The Place of Birds and Flowers) in the department of Cuscatlán.
The tours start at Kilometer 7 on the highway that runs between Suchitoto and Aguilares, in the community of El Sitio Zapotal of which you will learn its history from its founding in 1993 after the peace agreements in El Salvador.
The Guazapa mountain range has an average tempurture of 22° C and receives more than 2000 cubic millimeters of rainfall each year, it is a humid subtropical forest and has many rivers and streams that feed the Cerrón Grande reservoir.
On our tour you will learn how local farmers cultivate in the area.

The biological diversity of the Guazapa mountain range is quite extensive with over 260 plant species belonging to 83 families. There is also abundant wildlife and in the case of mammals there are 21 species some of which include whitetail deer, coyotes, armadillos, raccoons, porcupine and pumas..
Birds: 27 species, within 19 families including the toucan, talapo, chocolatero, urraca, hawks, parakeets, etc...
Anphibians and Reptiles 16 species of importance to the area.

Things that are prohibited within the forest:
- Leave designated paths.
- Dump or leave garbage or trash within forest area.
- Camp within the forest without previous authoration.
- Cut, prune or damages trees or bushes.
- Remove any natural or historic items from forest.
- Carry weapons of any kind.
- make noise using radios, megaphones or fireworks, etc.
- Start camp fires or smoke outside the designated camping area..
- overload lookouts and bridges or jump on them.
- Use of soap, detergents or other chemical agents to wash clothes in local rivers and streams. 
- Introduce or sell alcoholic beverages
